The yard/parking area of ​​the shopping center in Vantaa was renovated in 2022/2023.
The lively yard area was made more modern, attractive, and environmentally friendly by the following methods:
The parking lot squares were widened.
The impermeable asphalt surface was replaced with a partially permeable and semi-permeable surface.
The sidewalk paving was reinstalled, but old concrete stones were used.
Concrete curbstones were replaced at the corners of the traffic dividers.
The monotonous eelgrass plantings were diversified with durable ornamental grasses.
Columnar narrow mountain ash trees were planted in narrow green strips.
Vines were planted to climb along steel trellises that were specially designed for this site. The bright red illuminated trellises are designed as landmarks for the shopping center.
The low concrete stone wall of the parking area was replaced with granite raw stone wall stones.
The railing on the wall was replaced with a custom-made steel railing.
Electric charging points were installed in the parking lot.
By utilizing the existing concrete blocks, the aim was to reduce the use of new materials and reduce the carbon footprint.
Cheerful, modern seating areas were installed along the entrance to the shopping center.
